(aka Jim & Cindy Reed) have been members of the Market family since the very beginning. They visited the first week of the Market in 2005 and set up a table selling jewelry the next week. In the beginning, they had one table under a borrowed canopy and just a handful of items for sale. They were one of approximately 15 vendors selling in the Bay Street parking lot. How times have changed. Not only has the Market grown to more than 50 vendors, but SunSpot has grown, too. They now have 4 tables of handmade jewelry, rocks and natural items. They also make repairs and take custom orders.
Jim has been cutting rocks for over 40 years. He’s also an accomplished silversmith and loves to work with copper. He’s not just a rockhound, but he also has a Master’s degree in Geology. Customers frequently approach him with rocks wanting to know what they have and if he can turn it into wearable art for them.
Cindy, a Lakeland native, has been a glass artist for 30+ years, beginning with stained glass, moving to fusing and finally to flame work. She’s been making glass beads and pendants since 2005. She also works with wire, copper, silver and natural stone beads. Cindy teaches Lampwork at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts in Young Harris, GA.
